Albus is repacked from Kodak 2238 Fine Grain Duplicating Film, prized for its low grain, extended latitude, and silvery tonal quality. Each Albus roll is hand-inspected and stored in a retro aluminium container, offering photographers a refined monochrome option for studio portraits, archival work, and controlled-light projects.
At Tollylab, every black & white roll is developed in custom-blended chemistry formulated in-house to match the character of each emulsion — whether it’s the deep contrast of Double-X or the soft tones of Kodak 2238.
Once processed, each frame is scanned on our Fuji Frontier system, not a flatbed — a machine painstakingly maintained for its unmatched tonal accuracy and classic film rendering. This combination of tailored chemistry and Frontier scanning ensures depth, balance, and that unmistakable analog texture in every scan.
